Dan Fogelberg died too young. 15 studio albums, 3 live albums, 8 compilations … even a Christmas album. 24 singles, 6 Number One hits …but no one under 55 knows who he is. His early producer said he was the greatest musician he ever heard. Yet nowadays, he’s slipped from the collective conscience. He was a private person who chose to avoid the fast lane and head for the offramp. And then cancer took him from his loyal Dan Fans in 2007. Dan deserved his day in the sun, spending his later years basking in the adulation of the musical community. But it was not to be.
Souvenirs is a band of Fogelnerds dedicated to casting a bright light on the incredible diversity and virtuosity of Dan’s musical legacy. From his famous love songs and ballads, on through his Latin-influenced tunes, and all the way to his Angry Environmentalist hard rock songs, we try to deliver an audience-friendly musical biography of Dan’s songbook. And our love of the music shines through every note.

Watching ‘Souvenirs’ honoring all the songs of the late Dan Fogelberg is a joy. And watching the energy exchange between the band members is another joy. They have so much fun, it’s just contagious. It’s a great and uplifting way to spend an evening.

I thoroughly enjoyed your Souvenirs show! The variety of instruments, lead vocals, and harmonies kept the night interesting and fun. The textures were rich, and the Fogelnerds’ camaraderie was as entertaining as the music. I found myself laughing with you … a lot!

I recently had the pleasure of seeing Souvenirs in Nevada City, California. I was expecting another tribute band performing the artists’ greatest hits trying to duplicate the sound of the original performer. That is not what Souvenirs does. They play what they find exceptional and unique, and perform the songs, arranged to fit the talent of the members of the band. You won’t hear all of Dan’s Top Ten, but songs that touch the hearts of the band. I give them 5 out of 5 stars. I highly recommend seeing them if you have the opportunity.
